Denaby United spent their last Saturday away from home on Saturday. After the visit to Hull only one more away fixture was remaining, and that was dealt with on Thursday, when the team went to Scunthorpe.

There remains now two home matches and we are at the end of a pleasant and interesting season which has been prolific in points and reputation if not cash.

The game at Anlaby Road, on Saturday, was thoroughly pleasant and interesting. The match was won and lost in the first 5 minutes, but Denaby battled hard right to the end, and always seemed likely to retrieve that early misfortune.

In spite of the big counter attraction at the Boulevard, there was a fair attendance and a lot of good football put up by the colliery team came in for generous appreciation.
