A Dangerous Practice.

At the Doncaster West Riding Police Court, on Saturday, a lad named Levi Evans, belonging to Denaby, was charged with a breach of the Railway Act.

On the afternoon of Friday, the second instant, a man named Noble was driving a mineral train from Hexthorpe to Mexborough, when, whilst passing the Denaby siding, the defendant seized a stone and threw it at the driver. The driver, seing the action, moved his head, and just escaped being hit.

Afterwards the defendant was captured, and taken to Mexborough.

The offence was admitted, and the defendant was fined 19 shillings and costs, and ordered to have six strokes with the Birch Rod.
