Abusing a Denaby Hawker.

Patrick Cain, miner, Denaby, was summoned by Albert Smith for having used abusive language at Denaby on the 13th inst.

The defendants wife appeared for him.

The complainant is a dealer in picture frames and other articles, of 80, Catherine Street, Doncaster.

On Monday the 13th inst he said he was carrying on his business at Denaby, when the defendant asked him the price of two picture frames. The complainant told him what the price was, and then the defendant challenged him to fight, and called him dirty names.

The complainant went away to the house of another customer, but the defendant came out later on, and again used abusive language.

The brother of the complainant, who was with him at the time, gave corroborative evidence, and the defendant was ordered to pay 2/6 and the costs.
