Alleged Theft at Denary.

Eliza Tyrrell, a married woman, living at Denaby Main, was charged with stealing two sheets, the property of Patrick Mees, on the 17th inst.

Prisoner went into Mees’ house on the night named and asked the daughter (Margaret) to fetch her a pint of beer. While the girl was away it was alleged the prisoner stole the sheets. The property was afterwards found at the prisoner’s house.

The contention for the defence was that the sheets had been purchased along with some bedding.

The Bench gave the prisoner the benefit of the doubt, and she was discharged.
