Big Haul

Coun and Mrs Alfred Booth, 211 Doncaster Rd, Conisbrough, are back after a delightful holiday in Switzerland, poorer to the extent of £230 of clothes, shoes and other articles which thieves stole from their bungalow whilst they were away.

Mr and Mrs Booth left for Switzerland on August 23, and returned to England eight days later. Last Wednesday, while staying in London with a former vicar of Denaby (the rev S. Powley) Mr Booth rang up the manager of his fish business (Mr J. B. Baker) asking if everything was all right, and was told of the robbery, which had occurred on Monday night.

Mr and Mrs Booth then set off for home immediately. To get into the house the thieves had entered through a side door, forcing the lock, and had broken the glass panel on an inside door to gain admittance to the bungalow.
