Black Diamonds

Black Diamonds was a film made in 1932 by Charles Hammer and, from its introduction, was inspired by the Cadeby Main Colliery Disaster in 1912 in which a total of 91 people lost their lives.

Although the storyline and acting is a little naive, the Film provides a fascinating insight in the life of miners and the conditions they worked and lived in. And at the time 750,000 men were employed in the industry.

The Film is 54 minutes long and is split into 5 parts; Black Diamonds 1, Black Diamonds 2etc. Please enjoy
