Boiler Trouble
Exasperates Conisbrough School Managers

Councillor R.H. Shephard told last Thursday’s meeting of Conisbrough Primary School Managers that he was “shocked and disgusted” by news that children are Rossington Street School, Denaby, had to miss three days at school because of a burst boiler.

He said: “The heating at that school seems to break down every year. It is shocking. I am absolutely fed up with hearing about it.”

Ald Ben Roberts (chairman) said: “The children are losing education and I am sure that the teachers do not like these enforce holidays. It is not fair to the teachers.”

Ald Roberts said he had brought up this matter at meetings at County level.

Mr E Hewson (Deputy Divisional Education Officer) reported that repairs were affected on Wednesday, and the children were able to resume their studies last Thursday.
