Children’s Diamond Jubilee Cot

From Conisborough Jubilee committee the sum of 30 shillings has been received as a donation towards his fund, being a portion of the balance in hand after defraying all the expenses of the June celebrations in the village.

Mr Smith, of the Board schools, in a letter accompanying it, said the committee were sorry the amount was not larger.

“We regret to hear that the treasurer of the cot movement, Mr John, the headmaster of the Denaby Main colliery schools, is laid up at his home seriously ill.

We join his many friends in an expression of how that he may be speedily restored to health. So that he may be able once more to take his part in the many good works which find in him at all times so willing and supportive.”
