There the Vicar, the Rev W JT Pascoe, conducted the service and preached on the position of religion today. He welcomed the Council and other public persons, and congratulated them on the way in which local government was administered. It was a great work, with difficulties and problems, and Conisborough have reason to be proud of the progress made and of the project’s scheme for the betterment of the community in housing, sanitation and public health generally. He was pleased that the Council had realised the necessity of a Civic Sunday and stressed its significance.
