Foot Amputated

Edmund Peterson, colliery engine hand, of The Crescent, Conanby, was caught by a tub which jumped the rails when ascending a gradient in Denaby Main Colliery on Saturday at a spot where Peterson was standing by.

Peterson received injuries to his foot, and he was removed to the Fullerton hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate the foot.

Last night he was stated to be doing as well as could be expected.
