Hurt at Play.

James Kelly, the five-year-old son of Edward Kelly, miner 22, Daylands Avenue, Conisborough, was playing with other children in Daylands Avenue on Friday evening when he ran across the road and was knocked down by a lorry driven by George Appleyard, Croft House, Conisborough. The child received minor injuries.

Roadsweeper Knocked Down.

A 71-year-old Conisborough roadsweeper, James Albert Abbey, 3, Castle Gardens Terrace, is in the Fullerton hospital suffering from a fractured left thigh and shock as a result of an accident which occurred while he was working on Friday afternoon. He was knocked down by a bicycle written by Jack Williams (16) 8, Prior road, Conisborough.

Sudden Death.

How a Conisborough miner who was subject to epileptic fix died from asphyxia, having apparently been smothered by the bedclothes during a fit while in bed, was told at an inquest held on Saturday by the Doncaster District Coroner (Mr W. H. Carlile). The man was John Alfred Rush (31), 5 Dayland’s Avenue, and Mrs Rush, his mother said he had had a fit at 1 AM on Saturday. He must have had another fit later. She found him dead at 5 AM. A verdict of “accidental death” was recorded.
