December 1882

Mexborough and Swinton Times December 15

THE POLICE WORK STATION

The case, Horsefield and Guest against Snell, has been heard in the Doncaster County Court .

Horsefield is a farmer, and Guest a carter, and Snell is a contractor in Masbro’.

He held the contract for the erection of the police station in Conisborough, and the other two did the carting, but it transpired that the work was sub-let to a man named Slack, and the judge held that the action had been brought against the wrong person and gave a verdict for the defendant for whom Mr. Hall appeared.

The costs to be divided between the plaintiffs.
