Conisborough Railway Station Broken Into

Early on Sunday morning, the booking office of the Conisborough M.S.and L.Station was broken into.

The porter, who first discovered the affair, notice that the glass or one of the booking office windows have been broken to admit thieves to enter the office, which they effected by lifting the sash and getting through.

Further examination shows that the till had been forced open, and the few shillings which had been left in had been stolen.

The bulk of the cash is always deposited in the safe in the office, but this had not been tampered with, although there were evidences that the depredator had considered the possibility of breaking it open. There would be a large amount of money in the safe than usual, as the previous day’s takings exceeded those of other days.
