Damaging Property at Conisborough

Three Denaby fillers named John Patter, James Henley and Michael Mohan and John Mohan, a New Conisborough filler, were summoned for damaging a fence, the property of Mr Bosdin J Clarkson, of Conisborough, on 22nd of April.

PC Thompson stated that on the date in question, at 4.05 pm, he was on duty on the Crags in company with PS Horton, when he saw the defendant running along Earnshaw Lane. He watched them get over a fence in the Wheatfield, belonging to Mr BJ Clarkson. He followed them, and caught Healy and the other three defendants were known to him. The fences had been broken down in several places where the defendants had broken through.

Mr Clarkson was called, and he said the damage amounted to about 1/- each. He had had to make frequent complaints to the police, in respect of trespassers.

The defendants were each fined 5/-and the costs 7/9 which included the damage.
