Denaby Boy Who Had Moved
When ten years old Terrence Keith moved with his parents from Denaby to Mexborough he found the back streets of Mexborough so confusing that he turn up at the wrong school on Tuesday morning.
Terrence, only son of Mr Keith, of 39, Garden Street, Mexborough, moved from Denaby to Mexborough last week. During that week his parents, who were on their holiday (at home) kept him at home so that he could get used to the district.
On Monday morning his mother, Mrs. Irene Keith, took him to school for his first day, but on Tuesday morning when he went alone he turned up at Roman Terrace Junior School instead of Schofield Street Junior School.
Terrence looked round the school for his class but it was finally realised that he was a “stranger in camp” and he was sent to Schofield Street. Next morning Terrence went to school with a pal who called’ for him and who knew the district.
