A wedding of local interest took place at Kensington, London, on Tuesday, when Miss Edna Smith, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Smith, of Tickhill Square, Denaby Main, was married to Dr H. K. Whalley, youngest son of Mrs Whalley and the late Mr T. Whalley of Keighley, Yorkshire.

The bridegroom is well-known in the Keighley district and the bride in the Doncaster district, she had been a member of the staff of the Beechfield boys school, Doncaster, since leaving college six years ago. The school staff presented her with a Stuart Crystal fruit set. The bridegroom is a doctor of chemistry, and is engaged at the Home Office laboratories at London.

At this ceremony on Tuesday the bride worw a swagger costume of brown with squirrel for colour and hat to tone. Her only attendant, Miss H. Whalley (sister of the bridegroom) was attired in a green swagger costume with a fox fur trimmings and hat en suite. Mr B. Smith (brother of the bride) attended the bridegroom. Dr and Mrs Whalley will reside at Mill Hill, London.
