Wombwell Main 37 Denaby and Cadeby 124

These teams met on Saturday before a good attendance at Wombwell Main. The visitors won the toss, and elected to bat. The first wicket fell for one run, and the second for six. The next two batsmen registered 41 before being parted. Scott was missed when he had scored four, and and I.P Bury when he had scored six. Smith and Robinson gave fine displays with the bat for 32 and 18 respectively, while Hardy batted well for his 10 S. Thomas, for his side, bowled well, as the analysis will show 14.2 overs 2 maidens 3 runs and 5 wickets.

The home team failed miserably. They were all out for the small total of 37. The bowling of Robinson and Scott was exceptionally good, taking all 10 wickets between them. Robinson bowled 14 overs, 11 maidens,6 runs, 4 wickets, while Scott bowled 13.1 overs, 4 maidens, 29 runs, six wickets. The main feature of the match was the splendid exhibition of stumping given by Narraway who took three wickets very cleverly.
