Alfred and Eddie Longbottom, two brothers who left their home at 6 Melton View, Denaby Main, last February to go to New Zealand.

Two days after they arrived at Wellington the octane working a boot factory. They were soon recognised as promising footballers, and quickly gained a place in the factory team, who were the runners-up in their league and also won a challenge cup.

Alfred, was 18 when he left England, is known as the “Swift’s sharpshooter,” having scored 13 goals, and done the hat trick twice.

They both enjoy life in New Zealand which is full of variety and interest.
