Denaby Main beat Sheffield
An Exciting Contest

The Sheffield men open their inter-team shooting for the season with a match on the Little Matlock Range, their opponents being the Denaby Main Rifle Club.

Teams were of 10 aside and a most exciting contest took place, it being left to the final shot of the day to decide the result of the match. The conditions were seven shots and one sighter at 200 and 500 yards. At the conclusion of the 200 yards the Sheffield men led by 14 points, and gaining further points when the first six men finished at 500 yards, and looked like going out easy winners, but from this point the Denaby men kept scoring consistently, while two of the Sheffield cracks failed miserably and had the mortification of seeing the Denaby team snatch a win by two points.

The Sheffield men afterwards entertained their visitors to tea at the Robin Hood Inn
