In The News

Hurt in pit

Thomas Calladine (27), miner, of Winfield Crescent, Mexborough, received head injuries and shock on Saturday when caught by a run of about seven tubs of dirt in the deep seam of Denaby Main Colliery. He was taken to Fullerton hospital and detained.

Accidents

the frosty weather has been responsible for several accidents to pedestrians in spite of the fact that the Council took the precaution of sprinkling gravel on the roads and paths in some parts. Cases of minor injuries are being treated from the last week.

On Sunday Mr Jacobson, of 37 Bolton Street, Denaby Main, a widow over 70 years of age, had the misfortune to fall and break her thigh. She died in the Fullerton Hospital on Wednesday evening.
