That the Denaby cricket team are doing badly.

That they sadly missed that excellent batsman who has been prevented from playing this season owing to a severe illness.

That the glass workers had a gala on Saturday, when their new ground was formally opened.

That the opening match between the married and single ended in a creditable win for the benedicts. Bravo! Good old married men.

That the absence of Old Sol is causing a commotion amongst the gardeners.

That they are sighing for the advent of warm weather for their allotments.

That our local band intend bringing a prize back from the contest at Worsboro Dale.

That our local ambulance Brigade are to take part in the hospital Sunday movement at Mexborough.

That’s some good news in regard to next year’s football players was made at the general meeting of the club.

That the match with the Derbyshire XI will prove a great attraction next Thursday.

That the officials and horse keepers at the Cadeby colliery are to play another cricket match. To be followed by a supper and convivial evening.

That the school attendance officer is having a busy time this week in seeking their absent children from the schools.

That the parents of these children will have to appear before the Doncaster bench to answer the reason why they were not sent school after the holidays.
