Denaby’s half-time lead
Notts F. Reserves. 4, Denaby United 2
Rain fell throughout Denaby’s final game of the season against Notts Forest Reserves at City ground, Nottingham, on Saturday.
Denaby were the better side in the first half and Lovell (centre forward from Denaby comrades) gave them a 2-0 interval lead. Salt (New Stubbin) did well on the right wing and Coward was the best defender.
Forest took command in the second half, however. All the play was in the Denaby half and Notts scored after 10 minutes. Denaby, apart from Williams, who played very well, were hard pressed all the half. The left flank was weak and Notts finished easy winners 4-2.
Coward was Denaby’s best player.
