Denaby, who held Barnsley to a goalless draw at Tickhill Square on December 8, lost 3-1 in the return match at Oakwell on Saturday after taking the lead to a smart goal by Moseley.

Barnsley scorers were Fisher (2) and Reid.

Maxwell showed good form in the Barnsley forward line, though evidently playing well within himself. An impressive display was given by Lee at right half, while Shotton and Nicholson gave good protection to Rimmington in goal.

Mosley was an alert leader for Denaby, who played well in the first hour, but fell away after the interval

On Saturday Denaby meet Scunthorpe at Tickhill Square.
