Lincoln brought a very strong side indeed to Tickill square on Monday to play the match that was fogged off on November 27. Moreover, they had had no Midland league match on Saturday, and Denaby had. The same 11 men who beat Grantham on Saturday represented Denaby on Monday, but they were the same in personnel only. The football on Monday was a vastly different thing to the football of Saturday. There was method, understanding, cleverness and finish about eight in satisfying degree: and Lincoln – big as they were! – were no match for the Denaby team. It was an excellent game.
