Denaby´s Comfortable Win over Cortonwood.

Denaby & Cadeby 77 for 0  Cortonwood 76

Without losing a wicket in gaining 77 runs, Denaby and Cadeby had a comfortable victory over, Cortonwood at Denaby on Saturday.

Openers Arthur Ellis and Malcolm Walker, looked well settled as Denaby, set out to answer Cortonwood´s 76 all out. On a softish wicket the visitor´s attack – Philip Wrightson and Eric Peploe – was unrewarded as Ellis made 32 and Walker, 44 not out in an hour and 25 minutes.

Cortonwood had opened and take the score to 42 for three. Terry Wiseman was Cortonwood’s top scorer with than occasionally shaky 23 before he was caught by P Collinridge off N Pearson.

For Denaby Dick Lawley took seven for 31 and Neil Pearson, three for 27. They dismissed the visitors after just 32.2 overs; a most satisfactory encounter from Denaby’s point of view.
