Deserter At Conisborough.

To-day at the West Riding Court, Doncaster, Henry Taylor, collier, Conisborough, was charged with  deserting from the (North Staffordshire) Regiment  in June last.

Sergeant Noble found prisoner at his father’s house in Don View terrace at Conisborough.

On charging him with being a deserter he admitted  the offence, and said he escaped with his uniform on.  He was wearing plain clothes underneath, and left his uniform in a field.

He was remanded at Wakefield to await escort his regiment.
