Fire Brigade

On Sunday morning the fire brigade received a call to the goods yard and Conisborough and Denaby detachments were quickly on the scene.

They found a wagon-load of barrels of fats blazing furiously. Before the arrival of the brigade the van had been isolated and was quickly burnet out. Nothing else was endangered.

It was rather amusing in the last stages, for though several lengths of hose had been connected from Low Road there was hardly enough for the turn into one corner of the van, and so the brigade pushed the fire to the water.
