Private T. Henley –  Military Funeral

The mortal remains of Private T.Henley (Grenadier) of 61 Barnburgh Street, were laid to rest in the Denaby cemetery on Wednesday, the reverent R Gregory officiating.

Private Henley was wounded on September 26 but was not found until September 28 and was later conveyed to the Lochreidie  Cross Hospital, Dundee, Scotland, where he succumbed to his wounds on October 27.

His father received some fine tribute to the memory of his son from the officers and nurses.

By the kind permission of Major F.A.Kelley, of the Royal defence Corps, a detachment from this Corps, under the command of Sgt Dewar, attended the funeral and also acted as bearers.
