Impudent Theft of Mushrooms

Today at the Borough Court, Doncaster, James Dalton, collier, Conisborough was charged with stealing mushrooms, the property of Joseph Ray, greengrocer, French Gate stop

between 10 and 11 o’clock defendant went into the shop putting his hand over the counter to 1 pound of mushrooms and walked out of the shop.

Prosecutor followed him, and he was locked up by Police constable Rose

Prisoner was fined 20 shillings and costs or 14 days in prison
