Denaby News – Boy kicked in head by Runaway Horse

On Thursday 19th inst a child named Cain, while playing in the street was kicked on the head by runaway horse. Mr Breadie, assistant to Dr Hill being called in found the child suffering from fracture of the posterior portion of the skull from which the brain substance was protruding. From enquiries up to going to press we learn, that the child lies in a precarious condition.

The trial between Mr Parker, late manager Denaby main colliery at the colliery company is expected to take place towards the end of this week.

We are informed on good authority that Denaby main is about to join Mexborough in the water supply, and that pipe show about to be laid at once, such a step is very desirable, the water becoming an important question, where for some time the want of it has being felt.
