Primitive Methodist Sabbath School Anniversary

Primitive Methodist Sabbath School Anniversary

On Sunday last July 22nd, Mr George Platt of Mexborough delivered two very able sermons, in the Primitive Methodist chapel, Conisbrough, in aid of the funds of the Sabbath school.

The services were both well attended, and the singing and piece reciting gave general satisfaction.

On Monday a social tea was provided in the chapel, after which a public meeting was held. Mr Hackney of Conisbrough ably acted as chairman and the meeting consisted of addresses by Mr William Haycroft, Mrs G Platt and the Rev J Hall and recitations and singing by the children.

A very agreeable evening was spent, and all returned to their homes highly gratified.

The proceeds of the anniversary were highly satisfactory to the school committee.
