Medical Officer’s Report

The medical officer reported that during the quarter there were 61 males and 73 female births, equal to an annual rate of 31 per thousand against 18 for the country as a whole.

The deaths were 16 male and 21 female, equal to the death rate of eight per thousand against 10 for the country.

Infantile mortality give a rate of 74 against the normal rate of the country of 62.

It is pleasing to note that we are approaching nearer the average.

There were 117 case of smallpox, 60 of chickenpox, seven of diphtheria and three of scarlet fever.
