No Armchairs for Teachers
Conisbrough Decide by Casting Vote

Conisbrough Primary School Managers last night expressed concern at the number of unofficial school holidays children in the area were getting.

It was stated that four clubs were organising outings this month on school days. To avoid this in the future it was decided all the clubs and churches in the area to be circularised, asking for their cooperation with the committee in selecting next year’s dates.

The Managers also expressed the hope that in future the local pit holidays would fall when the schools were normally closed.

The registration of Miss A. A. Finch Headmistress of Morley Place Infant School, to take effect in September 30, was received with regret.

On the casting vote of the chairman, Coun.  G. Cheshire J. P it was decided not to approve the supply of six armchairs for the staff room at Station Road School, Conisbrough.

Mrs. A E. Stimson said that was one of the things which could be cut these days when young people were finding it so hard to get furniture.
