No Bus Service for Old Denaby.

The village of Old Denaby has still no modern form of contact with the surrounding towns of Mexborough, Rotherham and Denaby. At a meeting of the Parish Council last Thursday, letters from the Mexborough and Swinton Traction Co., were produced. Both stated that it was impossible to run a bus service into the village.

The Mexborough and Swinton Co. whose vehicles turn round at Kilnhurst Bridge, over a mile away, do not think that the population of the village is great enough to warrant a regular service. The company stated that they would be willing to grant a service on Friday and Saturday, but weight limit of five tons on the Kilnhurst bridge did not permit them to extend their services.

Yorkshire Traction buses running between Doncaster and Denaby turn round one and half miles from the village on the Doncaster side.
