Denaby´s Mastery at Newark

Newark 0, Denaby United 6

Denaby United overran Newark when they defeated them 6-0 at Newark, the latter´s goalkeeper being unable to cope with the repeated onslaughts of the Denaby forwards.

There were times when Gibson and company were harassed and twice Newark nearly scored when Tomlin hit the woodwork from close quarters, but his shots were the only ones of note.

On the other hand, Denaby were masters of the game, their forwards being ably assisted by a strong half-back line in which Wright (centre-half) was outstanding.

Denaby´s attack included McKenzie, centre-forward from Bradford, and a clubmate of Padgett and Davis.

Denaby put on two goals before the interval, both being scored by DAVIS. In the second half goals were scored by SMITH, GIBBS, McKENZIE and PADGETT.
