Offences in the Mines

At Doncaster West Riding Police Court on Saturday, the following fines were inflicted for offences in the Denaby and Cadeby Collieries.

Mr. Allen prosecuted on behalf of the Colliery Company.

Samuel Bird, pony driver, Denaby, 20s. inclusive, for leaving ventilating door open in the Cadeby mine, October 29th,

Albert Kitchen, filler, Denaby, Walter Stainrod, miner, Conisborough, and John Guy, Doncaster, each 20s. inclusive, for taking matches down the mine.

For similar offences, James Hay, miner, Mexborough, had to pay 25s., and Leonard Corbridge, pony driver, Mexborough, 2s. 6d. and costs.
