Output Up, Not Wages
Claim Denaby Fillers

A one-day strike of about 50 fellows at Denaby Main colliery on Friday brought the Barnsley seam of the colliery to a whole on the afternoon shift.

When they receive their pay packets on Friday morning the men were not satisfied with the wages and claim they had increased the output last week but had no corresponding increase in their wage packets.

The matter is being investigated by the N.U.M. branch. The men concerned returned to work on Monday afternoon without a meeting being called. It was estimated that about 100 tons of coal were lost.
