Remarkable Escape – Motorcycle Combination in Shop

Mr. Barlow, of 48, Tickhill Street, Denaby Main, was on Monday driving a motorcycle combination with three children in the sidecar down Tickhill Street when the machine got out of his control and he crashed into the doorway of this sweetshop kept by Mr. Cass opposite the street on the main road. Fortunately no customer was within the shop. Mr. Cass was in the doorway but sensed the danger and dodged as the machine entered the shop.

The sidecar was caught by the railings at the side of the shop. The shop doorway was broken in and the machine was damaged, but neither the driver nor the children were injured, except for shock.

Had the main road not been free from traffic at the time the mishap might have been much more tragic.
