New Conisborough Man’s Strange Conduct

on Saturday young man named Albert Lindsay, Phil, new Conisborough was charged at Doncaster West Riding Court with attempting to commit suicide on Friday. Two

Two men saw defendant on the Don Bridge at Denaby and noticed he appeared rather strange. He had no boots or stockings on.

One of them, George Chilton asked Lindsay what he was doing there, and he replied “I mean it,” and added that he had got out of bed to do it. He was 11:15 at night. Prisoner was sitting on the bridge with his face to the water. He did not say why he meant commit suicide. He also said he had been to the house and bidden them “Goodbye.”

Prisoner brother promised to take care of him, and he was discharged
