Serious Accident to an Old Man at Denaby Main

John Stoddart aged 73, employed as a brickmaker at the Denaby Main Colliery, was knocked down by trucks in the colliery yard during shunting operations on Monday.

He sustained, it is feared, injuries which will result fatally.

The old man was making his way across the yard in search of moulds when he met with the accident.

His recovery is not expected.
