Smoke Control
A review of possible smoke control areas in the Conisbrough district is to be made by the local urban council.
The local authority agreed this on Wednesday four years after formulating a smoke control programme for part of the district which has not yet been implemented.
Like other South Yorkshire Council’s Conisbrough have now been warned by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government that legislative action may have to be taken if authorities do not take the matter into their own hands.
The Ministry have asked to be informed by March 31st of local authorities’ plans for smoke control.
