Soldiers Entertained

The Ivanhoe String Band and a number of friends, last Thursday evening, Journeyed to Doncaster, and generously entertained a number of soldiers, who were stationed in a Y.M.C.A. hut at Waterdale, Doncaster.

The chairman was Capt. Walker, Baptist Chaplain.

Vocal solos were contributed by Miss C Harrison, Miss A Merrill, and Mr H Arnall, Mr DH Brown was the accompanist. Miss May Smith was highly appreciated on account of her elocutionary powers.

The Ivanhoe Band rendered a  number of selections.

The instrumentalists were: First violins, Mr HH Sharp and Mr Jesse Hill; second violins,  Mr C Turnbull and Miss J Brough; cello Mr W Johnson; Saul Bass, Mr G.W. Laughton; piano, Mrs H.H. Sharp.
