Theft From A Miner.

At the Borough Police Court, yesterday, the Mayor (AM. Wray) presiding, a young woman named Mary Armstrong, 4. Foundry Street and an elderly woman named Ellen Hall, of 10. Wilson Street, Barnsley were together charged with having stolen 25s. and a silver watch guard, value 1 10 shillings from Charlew West, miner, of 44. New Conisbro’, on the seventh inst.

From the prosecutor’s statement, it it appeared that he went with Armstrong to Hall’s house on the morning named. When he left he missed the money and guard.

The prisoners were sent to gaol for two months each.
