Turner

Private H. Turner is the cousin of Private A Turner whose death is shown separately. He also resided at 4 Loversall Street, Denaby Main.

He was wounded in the same action at Lille on 18 October, in which his cousin was killed. He was badly wounded in the leg. He declines to talk of his experiences, except to say that the British were outnumbered by 6 to 1, and that it is a miracle that he is now living.

His cousin was only the fifth man away from him when he was shot dead. We are pleased to hear that Mr H Turner has made a splendid recovery. He has paid a welcome visit to his parents and friends at Denaby, and has recently rejoined his regiment at South Shields. He is as keen as ever to get to the front again, in spite of his unfortunate experiences.
