Fatal Colliery Accident

A boy named Frederick Rayner, 14 years of age, was employed as a horse driver in the Denaby main colliery, met with a shocking accident yesterday morning, which caused his death in a very short period. The deceased, at about 10:40 o’clock in the morning, was driving a horse in the pit, which was drawing two corves. By some means the lad caught his foot in the horse gear and was thrown heavily on the rails. When taken up in an insensible condition. It was ascertained that he had sustained an injury to the back of his head. He was quickly removed from the pit, but he died as he was being conveyed to his house
