Bees in Possession After 11 Hours

Late last night, 11 hours after arriving, a swarm of bees were still in possession of temporary quarters beneath a bedroom window the home of Mrs. Nancy Hughes in Doncaster Road, Denaby Main.

They had defied individual and united efforts to dislodge them by the police, the disinfestation expert of the Denaby Colliery Company’s Cottage Repairs Department, a local apiarist, housewives and small boys.

The latest bulletin on this operation Swarm was that the apiarist was to make a further effort to sweep the intruders into a bucket at dead of night.
