Who Are The Owners Of a Church ?
Before a Denaby church can be offered for sale, its ownership has to be decided upon.
The building’, situated on the Mexborough- Doncaster main road, adjoins the rear of the Reresby Arms Hotel.
It replaced a barn which was first used as a place of worship in the village some years ago. For over 20 years the building has not been in use.
The present Parish Church has been used, previous to which the weekly services were held the large hall. The matter has been brought before the Parochial Council, who cannot find out whether the church belongs to them or not.
Their inquiries of the colliery agents and the estate agents have brought no answer to the question.
