Alarm in a Tunnel

On Saturday night, the occupants of one of the compartments of a passenger train from Doncaster to Mexbro’ was very much startled on entering the tunnel at Conisbro’.

It appears that the door of an empty brake had not been shut, and that it came in contact with the masonry of the tunnel, thus being burst from its hinges, and it was dashed with considerable violence against the woodwork of the cos iterate carriage.

Intimation of the occurrence was given at the Conisbro’ Station, and the broken door was found on the line.
