Ancient Pottery to be Examined by Experts

November 1928

Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Friday 02 November 1928

While digging trench for the laying-on of water from spring Firsby Farm, Conisborough, workmen came across some ancient pottery.

Unfortunately the picks had done their damage before it was realised what was being unearthed, but the pieces were collected, and. Mr. J. Major, Conisborough, has managed almost to put together an urn of crude earthenware, which he believes to Roman origin.

They are to be examined by experts.
