Assault at Denaby.

A charge of assault was preferred against Sarah Ann Leng, who assaulted Ann Birley, married woman, of Denaby, on 19 September.

Defendant in this case also pleaded guilty.

Complainant said the defendant came to her and told her that her son had been throwing stones at defendants boy. Complainant told defendant that she would punish her boy when he came home from school.

That was not sufficient for her, she threw the complainant down, and pulled a handful of hair out of her head, and use bad language towards her.

A fine of 4/– and 16/– cost was imposed.

Defendant: “I have not any money to pay sir.”

The Chairman: well, 14 days.
